How to send the job to your printer
- File: save the prepared file and open it in your printer’s control software.
- TCP port: send the prepared file over the network to a configured receiver. This mode does not control printing in the way Direct Print does.
- Direct Print to Hoson printer: send the job and control printing in NXRIP without moving the file to PrintExp.
Hoson Direct Print
Direct Print keeps preparation and printing in NXRIP. Choose the speed, direction, passes, feed and how the joins between passes are blended.
- Speed: Low, Middle and High settings.
- Direction: left, right or bidirectional printing.
- Pass blending: Strong A and MixFog help soften the joins between passes. Adjust the strength and width of the blending.
Use a test print to choose the speed and blending for smooth solid colors. Check the nozzles and alignment first, and use your usual inks, materials and color profile.
Direct Print supports Hoson printer configurations with different head layouts and channel arrangements. The profiles below are for saving print files, including BYHX, Senyang and WellPrint workflows.

These profiles are available in NXRIP’s printer settings. All use 2-bit output. Match the controller and printhead; a printer’s model name alone does not confirm compatibility.

PRT, PRN and Custom change the file’s extension. They do not change the data format for the controller.
Before you send the first print
Choose the profile and how to send the job. Check the nozzles and alignment, then make a small test with your inks, film and powder. Keep the original files and your current printer settings.
Choose a file-output profile in Printer Settings. For Hoson Direct Print, use the network connection workflow.
