Prepare messy customer files for real DTF production

NXRIP builds gang sheets, generates controlled white underbase, AI-upscales low-resolution artwork, converts transparency into printable halftone, checks common file problems, and prepares RIP output for supported Hoson and BYHX printers.

DTF production is not just "open file and print"

Most customer artwork is not production-ready. The time gets lost before printing: fixing bad files, building gang sheets, controlling white, dealing with transparency, and trying not to waste film.

01

White trim destroys details

Basic choking can erase thin white lines or remove the white backing that thin dark details need.

02

Bad files slow production

Tiny PNGs, blurry JPEGs, screenshots, transparent borders, and random PDFs all need attention before print.

03

Basic nesting wastes film

Bounding-box nesting leaves dead space around irregular artwork. That is film you paid for but never printed on.

04

Transparency needs conversion

Smoke, fades, glows, shadows, and soft edges do not print as real screen transparency on DTF.

Built around DTF output, not generic inkjet printing

NXRIP focuses on the ugly daily prepress work that DTF shops actually deal with: white, nesting, low-resolution files, transparency, copy counts, and job preparation.

01 — White underbase

White generation that does not blindly choke everything

The problem: many workflows trim the whole white layer the same way everywhere. That can eat thin white artwork or remove backing from thin dark areas.

NXRIP uses DTF-specific white generation and trim logic instead of a dumb global choke. Fine white lines, small text, hairline details, and thin dark areas can keep the white support they need while reducing unwanted white overbuild.

  • Controlled white underbase generation
  • White trim/choke behavior designed for DTF
  • Preview before output

02 — Nesting

Rectangular nesting and shape-based nesting

The problem: simple bounding-box nesting wastes space when the artwork has irregular shapes or large transparent areas.

NXRIP supports both standard rectangular nesting and advanced shape-based nesting. Use rectangular nesting when the job needs predictable layout. Use shape-based nesting when irregular designs should fit tighter on the sheet.

  • Normal rectangular nesting
  • Shape-based nesting by visible print area
  • Automatic gang sheet building for multiple files

03 — AI upscaling

Make many low-resolution customer files usable

The problem: customers send tiny PNGs, soft JPEGs, screenshots, and artwork that was never prepared for print.

NXRIP can AI-upscale low-resolution raster artwork before printing. It does not magically recover the original file, but in real DTF work it can turn many pixelated, muddy customer files into cleaner, more usable prints.

  • Automatic low-resolution detection
  • Built-in AI upscaling for raster artwork
  • Files that still need review can be flagged before production

04 — Transparency

Convert transparency into printable halftone

The problem: DTF cannot print real screen transparency. Soft shadows, smoke, glows, and fades need a printable translation.

NXRIP converts transparent effects into printable halftone patterns. The goal is simple: keep soft artwork effects alive on fabric instead of turning them into hard edges or losing them completely.

  • Halftoning for semi-transparent areas
  • Better handling of smoke, glows, fades, and shadows
  • Automatic processing for supported jobs

05 — Gang sheets

Drop files in. Build the sheet without hand-layout work.

The problem: folders, ZIPs, PDFs, random copy counts, empty margins, and mixed artwork sizes turn simple jobs into repetitive manual work.

NXRIP can extract files, split multi-page PDFs, crop empty transparent margins, read copy counts from filenames, run preflight, nest the artwork, generate the white layer, and prepare output for supported printer workflows.

  • Folders, ZIP archives, and multi-page PDFs
  • Copy count from filename patterns
  • Auto crop and automatic job preparation
NXRIP automatic gang sheet nesting

Automates the boring DTF prepress work

NXRIP can handle many of the repetitive steps before production. The operator still controls the printer, media, profiles, and final approval.

ZIP

Archive intake

Drop ZIP archives directly. NXRIP extracts the files and prepares them for checking and nesting.

PDF

Multi-page PDF split

Multi-page PDFs can be split into separate print items and placed into the job workflow.

x50

Copy count from filename

Use filename patterns to apply quantities without opening every file manually.

AI

Low-res upscale

Low-resolution raster artwork can be detected and AI-upscaled before printing.

α

Transparency processing

Semi-transparent effects can be converted into printable halftone output.

RIP

Output preparation

Build the gang sheet, generate white underbase, and prepare RIP output for supported systems.

What NXRIP does — and what the operator still controls

This matters. A DTF RIP should not pretend to control the whole production line. NXRIP removes file-prep friction before printing.

NXRIP can automate

  • file checking and preflight
  • empty margin cropping
  • AI upscaling for many low-resolution files
  • transparency halftoning
  • copy count handling
  • rectangular or shape-based nesting
  • white underbase generation
  • RIP output preparation

The operator still controls

  • film, powder, ink, and curing conditions
  • printer maintenance and nozzle condition
  • ICC/profile workflow and production settings
  • final approval for questionable customer artwork
  • supported printer configuration and output mode

From customer files to RIP output

The point is not decoration. The point is fewer manual clicks before the print job starts.

License

Free during testing

Download the tester build, open the License menu in the app, and activate your testing license.

Support can depend on the printer configuration, board version, firmware/output mode, ink setup, and production profile. Test the build with your own files and printer workflow before using it for paid production.
